Back on the Horse
Last post was a bit of a downer, as is the ups and downs of life as an aspiring playwright. Since then have dissected Cold Fusion the Rock Musical into more focused character arcs and who and what I want the audience to follow. That was a very helpful exercise! Jenny Magnus is keeping me honest. Kyra Leigh is on board with changes with is great.
Still chugging on other projects. Tyler Nielsen, director, and I are meeting with Jenny this week about bringing the budget down for The House of Butterflies to some “realistically” fundable number rather than how we would we stage it at a formal theatre.
Next up will be to review the architecture play about Jessie, Mama, Mies van der Rohe, and Edith Farnsworth. This is a one act play I would love to have a formal reading on so I can start pitching it. Perhaps have a reading at the Chicago Dramatists.
Last I want to put together the three ten minute plays into a reading.
There is a log going on.
